Re: [-empyre-] locative city, annotated space
>Hi Ruben,
One of the things I am very interested in developing is more of an
individual interaction with place. The thing I keep thinking about (one
of them I guess) is how navigation of place is a conversation. It is an
interplay in the sense that not only does the building, street, exposed
and hidden infastructure etc have visual information and unseen data to be
"read" while passing , but a viewer is having it all fed through their
lens and internal filters. Bias patterns can be applied as a term to how
one person may prefer longer pauses , different architecture, faster
walking pace established as a kid, and how they move is an editing tool
applied to what is before them. The presentation of data alone is a bit
more passive. The interplay should have an effect on other triggers,
perhaps on calculations establishing their patterns of movement and
avoidance, cadence etc and that forming a sort of feedback loop, not as
some random generative exercise, but as a cohesive integrated layer of
data and context on certain levels.
The nice thing with 34n was how there are many many many different
permutations possible depending what pattern a person walked and what
sequences they formed.
I really liked how in 34n there is no separation of critical and creative
voice ...no sudden chunk of philosophy to frame .....it is integrated into
an experientially driven mode that has both contents by the nature of
juxtaposition and layering as one moves
